Open a Project Folder

This procedure walks you through opening a project folder in Visual Studio Code.

📋 Steps

  1. Open Visual Studio Code.
  2. Open the Explorer Tab.
  3. Click Open Folder.
  1. Create new or select existing folder.
  1. Visual Studio Code will show the opened folder in the Explorer tab.
  1. The first time you open a folder, Visual Studio Code may ask whether you trust the authors of the files in it. This is your folder, so you can trust it.

🎯 Expected Outcome

Visual Studio Code shows the selected folder in the file explorer on the left.
